Subway is one of the largest restaurant chains in the world specializing in submarine sandwiches. Other than looking like a submarine, the sandwich is made by filling a split Italian roll with various sliced meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments.

The origins of Subway started in 1965 when 17-year-old Fred DeLuca asked his family friend, Dr. Peter Buck, a nuclear physicist, for advice on how to pay his college tuition. They came up with the idea of opening a submarine sandwich shop. With $1000 they set it all up in Bridgeport, Connecticut where they served freshly-made, customizable and affordable sandwiches to local guests. They expanded quickly and now operates in over 100 countries.

With lower initial investments and multi-unit growth potential, you can own a Subway franchise. To learn more click here.
